To my mind, duties are even more rudimentary than powers. The President is the Commander in Chief, yet he apparently has no duty bigger than preparing a State of the Union address. Lest you let my sarcasm lull you to sleep, be VERY aware of the next to last item. "Take care that the laws be faithfully executed". I look at the big picture and conclude that the President is mostly a figurehead. So I conclude that what that really means is "Don't be corrupt, and don't allow any corruption around you". The Supreme Court interprets that line as be Superman. You are personally repsonsible for everything and so we will give you immense powers that are beyond any normal persons ability to manage ethically. Know your enemy!
