We need to vote for Impeachers. Our Senators have served so long in an environment of Party politics,that many have forgotten they too have taken an oath to support the Constitution. We have forgotten that Democracy is a prerequisite to being able to fight our party battles. We have forgotten that Impeachment is a primary Balancing of Powers that is desperately needed if we are to maintain an open society.
The Supreme Court would have us accept that the Constitution is about Separation of powers. It is not. Hence we have impeachment. And we need to exercise that right.
I live in a congressional district that is traditionally red and has a blue candidate vying for my support. I like his platform, EXCEPT that he is unwilling to talk impeachment. If you have gotten this far with me, I sincerely hope that you understand now is not the time to be tallying up social benefits. If we are not willing to insist that our Senators regain their power to impeach, we are giving up the battle without even a fight.
Your Senator will be asked to support an impeachment in the next Congress. You need to be supporting a politician who is willing to vote such a question on the basis of the survival of our government.
