At the risk of overselling my point, I would like to share with you one other analysis of the Constitution based only on its Preamble. I have never seen this information set out this way, but I think it makes an important point.
The point, I think, is that if we look just at what the preamble says it is concerned about, the predominant subject is Quality of Life. The founders of our Constitution did not start out with what structure should we build. They started out with what kind of life do we want and then what kind of structure do we need to accomplish that.
Think on that for a moment before we change the subject.

Constitution Emphasis

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
