Article VI has become known as the Supremacy Clause. Aside from honoring prior debts, and outlawing any religious test as part of job qualification, this article is all about the Constitution being supreme. It is the supreme law of the land, it takes presedence over state law, and all officials both federal and state are required to take an oath to support it. The only complaint I have with it is that it fails to make it a crime to violate your oath. Some states have taken that step, but there is no federal law on the books to criminalize violating your oath to support the Constitution. In todays world, I find that omission egregious. On that note we can wrap up the Articles. We have nothing left after this except for Ratification, and I have chosen to simply acknowledge that in the table of contents. The next screen gets us into the Bill of Rights.
